After Endodontic Treatment
Mild tenderness or sensitivity for several days after treatment is common and should gradually improve.
Avoid chewing hard or sticky foods on the treated tooth until treatment is completed and the tooth has received its final restoration. Continue normal brushing and flossing.
For discomfort, you may take ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin) and/or acetaminophen (Tylenol) as directed, provided you have no medical condition, allergy, or medication-related contraindication to their use. Do not exceed the recommended dosage and follow all medication instructions and precautions.
Please contact our office if you experience severe or increasing pain, swelling, fever, a medication reaction, an uneven bite, loss of your temporary filling/crown, or symptoms that worsen rather than improve.
For difficulty breathing or swallowing, rapidly increasing swelling, or another medical emergency, call 911 or seek immediate medical care.
